Varian Finland is a significant software company in Finland. Most employees are specialists who use their extensive skills in software development, applied mathematics, and physics to develop Varian’s radiotherapy software, cancer treatment solutions, and cloud-based solutions to capture patient-reported outcomes. Varian Finland currently employs approximately 300 people of more than 20 nationalities from around the world.
Varian Finland's roots are in Dosetek Oy, which was established in 1980, and became a subsidiary of Varian in 1993. Today, Varian Finland develops the world's leading radiotherapy treatment planning systems. Varian acquired the Finnish health technology developer Noona Healthcare in 2018, and thus complemented its cancer treatment solutions with a cloud-based mobile application.
In Finland, almost all cancer hospitals use radiation therapy equipment or software developed by Varian. Varian radiotherapy devices account for 85% of all radiotherapy devices sold in Finland.
